After finding most of the animals at the zoo asleep, I got back around to the front and spotted one of the pelicans finally awake. Unfortunately, by the time I got over to him he had already curled back up and only eyed me curiously for a moment before going back to sleep.
Caldwell Zoo; Tyler, Texas

I suggest a full view with this one (well, I suggest a full view with all of them, but especially this one).

Thank you. :) This is my favorite from the entire trip. I was thrilled when I uploaded it and saw the detail and colors in the eye. The 3872x2592 original makes me go :omfg:.

"The 3872x2592 original." Holy cow. No wonder it's so sharp. That pose is fantastic, and you captured and framed it beautifully. Plus the whiteness of the feathers with the color around its eye - amazing. I came to your page and locked onto this. No wonder it's your featured deviation. 100% awesome.
